How does a car inspection pickup service work?

1. Book online in about two minutes. Pick a day, a morning or midday window, and whether you want the car back the same day or the next. Tell us it's an inspection, and mention anything else you'd like looked at.
2. A driver comes to you. A background-checked Brake Spoon driver arrives inside the window, photographs the car from every side, and takes the keys by hand or from a lockbox you leave out. You get a live tracking link.
3. The inspection happens at a licensed station. Virginia inspections can only be performed by stations licensed by the State Police, so a mobile mechanic in your driveway can't issue a sticker. We take the car to one and manage the visit.
4. Results come to your phone. If the car passes, that's the message. If it fails, you see each failed item with the Virginia standard it failed, separate from anything the shop merely recommends, at the shop's exact price. You approve or decline each line.
5. The car comes back. As soon as the shop is done for same-day, or the next business day, to your driveway or your office, with return photos and an itemized receipt.

What's included in the visit fee?

Pickup and return, condition photos, live tracking, booking the station or shop and every conversation with it, waiting so you don't have to, the results review and repair-approval process, and the reinspection if you approve a fix. Every decision is yours; we just carry it to the shop. Is my car covered while someone else is driving it?

Yes. Every trip runs under Brake Spoon's commercial garage-keepers and hired/non-owned auto policy. Drivers are license-verified and background-checked, the car is photographed at pickup and at return so any question about its condition has a timestamped answer, and the trip is GPS-tracked. Can I add other work to the same trip?

How is this different from a dealer shuttle or a mobile mechanic?

A dealer shuttle still requires you to drive to the dealer, and the dealer's service desk is the one presenting the repair list. A mobile mechanic can do many repairs in your driveway but cannot perform a Virginia inspection, because only a licensed station can.
